NASCAR Craftsman Truck Test
Trevor Tichy, 21, tested a NASCAR Craftsman Truck for Lafferty Motorsports October 2007. Lafferty Motorsports is located in Concord, North Carolina and Tichy has been talking with owner Chris Lafferty since the beginning of the year about a driver development program. Tichy had gone to Concord for an initial meeting in July and felt the meeting with Chris had gone very well so he returned to test in October.
The test consisted of two days beginning on a Thursday. The first was at Lafferty’s shop in Concord and a variety of areas were covered, specifically marketability and expectations of the driver and characteristics they were looking for in a driver. Friday’s test took place at Hickory Motor Speedway which is known as “America’s Most Famous Short Track,” and a place Tichy definitely wants to race at. He describes the track as "high banked, 1/3rd mile with short straight-aways. It was really fast and you sure get a sensation of speed."
